Volunteers Needed: Young Friends Night at the Shakespeare Festival

The Young Friends of the Shakespeare Festival needs your help at the annual Volunteer Night at the Festival on Sunday, June 11, beginning at 5:00 p.m.   

Young Friends are needed at this show to help as Ushers and Parking Attendants, as well as Chair Rental Agents, Roaming Salespeople, Information Specialists and Post-Performance Clean-up Staff. 

All jobs, with the exception of the Post-Performance Clean-up, begin at 5:00p.m. and last through intermission.  (And yes, you can sit down when the performance starts!)

If you are interested in helping the Shakespeare Festival for this annual Young Friends Volunteer night, or know someone who is, please email the Young Friends at:

This is a great way to get involved with the Shakespeare Festival, and meet some other young friends!

Eau So Hot Postponed...

A quick reminder to our ArtLink readers.

The Eau So Hot event, originally scheduled for Thursday, June 25, has been postponed until later this year. 

But we'll make it up to you with an extra-special night at the Shakespeare festival!

Cry Havoc, and Let Slip the Cast of Julius Caesar

Great news from the Young Friends of the Shakespeare Festival!

To make the June 10 ArtLink reception a real "Arts Insider" event, we will now have some of the cast members of Julius Caesar coming to join us! 

SFSTL is also donating a Julius Caesar poster, autographed by the entire cast, as a door prize to be raffled off to one lucky member.

6:30 p.m.

You are invited to come and enjoy complimentary beer, wine and hors d'oeuvres in the hospitality tent at the Festival prior to the evening's performance.

The Festival is located at the intersection of Fine Arts and Government Drives, just east of Art Hill in Forest Park. The Festival is free to the public.

Is an ArtLink Membership the same as a membership in an affiliate?

No, ArtLink is the joint young friends group of the affiliated organizations (COCA, the Contemporary, the Foundry, and Laumeier).

ArtLink members are invited to special young friends events hosted by the organizations, and they receive special discounts at many of the events.

But to obtain all the benefits of membership in any given organization, each individual needs to buy a dedicated membership from that organization.

What Organizations are Participating?

The following organizations are the current affiliates of ArtLink, as of October 2008:

• COCA - Center of Creative Arts
• The Contemporary Art Museum St. Louis
• Foundry Art Centre
• Laumeier Sculpture Park

How much does a membership cost?

ArtLink memberships are $20 per person for one full year. 

You can buy an ArtLink Membership on this website by clicking “Join Artlink” on the left side of the webpage.

Alternatively, you can purchase an ArtLink membership together with a membership in one of the affiliate organizations by adding $20 to your affiliate membership fee.  This can be done in person or at the affiliate website, depending on which affiliate you want to join.
